Special word for all mothers!

Up until I had my own child, I couldn’t figure out why so many moms give up on looking nice. I get it! Between the feedings and the spit up and the diaper changes and the lack of sleep, the LAST thing you want to think about is shopping. To top it off, you now have to dressĀ a body that you are unfamiliar with!

I experienced my own “ah-ha” moment (yes, even as a stylist!) when I went shopping on Saturday at Kohl’s. I became so frustrated because everything that I thought was cute that would have looked good on me 12 months ago, all of a sudden was VERY unflattering. I began to think I was doomed to live my life in stretchy dresses and SPANX.

I eventually took a breather and went back to Kohl’s later that evening and put together an outfit in 30 minutes. And you know what? I felt great wearing that outfit!! (I paired a floral empire waist dress with a pleated detailed cardigan (both by ELLE), and these FAB Simply Vera by Vera Wang shoes.)

I suppose my point is to not let everything else get in the way of YOU. You still exist! You still deserve to look the way you want! Trust me, getting dressed and making yourself look nice will make you feel better. You’ll walk a bit lighter and smile a bit brighter.

If you’re having trouble really getting back into the shopping game, please shoot me an e-mail! I may be a downer when it comes to shopping for myself, but I LOVE dressing others and I am very good at it. I am here to help you get a hold of YOU again!!

I have to agree that the outfit looked amazingly great on you! Kudos and good job. As one of your clients, I can vouch for the wonderful outfits you've put together for me – especially on my NYC trip this past March…a true life saver. Karen
