Gray hair: to dye, or not to dye?

Recently, supermodel Kate Moss has been photographed with seemingly gray streaks in her blonde hair. According to her, she dyed her hair light blue and it photographed as gray. Regardless of what really happened, it has now become a trend to have silver streaks in your hair.

Honestly, I don’t know why it took Kate Moss for this to become a trend! Women have had gray streaks for a while! (See TLC’s What Not to Wear host Stacy London and comic book heroine Rogue!)

All trends aside, deciding whther or not gray is for you is a personal choice. Maybe you already have gray in your hair as a 40+ woman? Maybe you’re a hipster 20-something looking for something unique to do? Regardless of where you’re at, go with what works for you. If you’re older, maybe dying your hair fully gray is what you need to do. Dying it brown or black or blonde every month is not only hard on your hair, its hard on your wallet too. Going gray may just be the simpler way to go. And yes, it CAN look great. (Think of Meryl Streep as Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada.)

If you are middle aged, think about letting the front part of your hair go gray instead of always dying it. Gray is a nice, natural way to add light to your face.
For those younger, trendy girls, doing it a-la-Rogue style is your best option. You don’t want to look old, you want to look trendy!!
